An item within a project has been declared obsolescent/obsolete. A resolution needs to be identified and implemented to minimise the impact on availability, and cost, to a project.

There is a defined list of methods of resolving obsolescence issues. These are linked with the obsolescence resolution cost metrics which can be used to measure performance and obsolescence cost prediction.
