Our Team

Through Life Support Limited personnel have many years of experience in providing Obsolescence Management specialist support for many projects and organisations, both large and small.

TLS staff were Subject Matter Experts within both the UK Ministry of Defence and Industry and have practical experience of introducing Obsolescence Management capability across many projects across different sectors.

Although our primary focus is Obsolescence Management, Through Life Support Limited personnel have many years of experience in Through Life Support, Integrated Logistics Support and Supportability Engineering disciplines within both the Ministry of Defence and Industry.

TLS have over 60 years of experience in various equipment support areas and a combined experience of issues and challenges from both the Customer and Supplier perspective.


TLS have a network of expert associates and links with other organisations ensuring that we maintain a range of expertise and capability in multiple related areas.  This ensures that we can provide the capacity and expertise where required.

  • Paul Mahoney
      Paul Mahoney

      I’ve spent the last 32 years working in various aspects of equipment support and enjoyed working on many programs and projects, ranging from Defence & Aerospace, Rail, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and Air Traffic Management. Having experienced life from both the customer and the supplier/service provider perspective, I’m well aware of the frustrations that can be felt by either side and strongly advocate joint/co-operative working.

      My particular interest and focus is on the sustainment of systems (new or legacy) and how a structured pro-active approach to Obsolescence Management can contribute to the ongoing sustainment task as well as significantly reducing whole life costs.

    • Stuart Kelly
        Stuart Kelly

        With an engineering background, Stuart has over 30 years of experience supporting projects within the Ministry of Defence and Industry. This has included working in various ILS disciplines and most recently spent several years as the MOD Subject Matter Expert and Policy owner for Obsolescence Management, for which he received commendations and awards for his development of this discipline. Stuart has assisted both Customers and Suppliers (in multiple sectors) to develop and implement proactive OM processes and has delivered Obsolescence Management training both locally and internationally.  He is currently the President of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management and is a visiting Fellow at Cranfield University.  He has been interviewed several times by media on the OM discipline and has regularly been invited to speak at local and international conferences.

      • David Williams
          David Williams

          David has over 35 years experience in Industry, most of which has been in the Aerospace and Defence Sector with extensive experience in Project Management of major sub contract products, Materials Management and Engineering Management. For the last 18 years, he has been performing at a Corporate level with Marconi Electronic Systems and BAE Systems providing solutions and consultancy for the management of, and support/ sustainment of products from System to Platform level. He has regularly presented at International Conferences in Europe and North America.
